As Emily and her father slowly walked up the small hill, Fredy broke down into tears. After being together for four years, they’d finally arrived at this day. Between a pandemic and enormous job responsibilities, they planned an intimate celebration and took their vows in the backyard of Emily’s childhood home.

I’m not even sure where to begin with Carrie and Billy. For these posts, I usually reflect on the wedding day and the moments that stood out to me, but with them, there is so much more to reflect on. With Billy, there is a lifetime of memories of he and I with our younger sisters and brothers. With Carrie, there is a newfound friendship that has deepened to a level I could have never expected in less than two years. I am so thankful and grateful they are part of my life.

George’s best man Fleming said it best when he began his speech with the phrase, “it’s later than you think.” He was referencing the fact that time always move a big faster than you anticipate. Isn’t that true?
