I recently had the pleasure of spending one steamy July evening with the sweet Stinehart family. The occasion for their session was baby Carter's first birthday, so he was the intended star of the show, but Lauren and Bradley quickly showed that they are equally photogenic!
As the door opened and their eyes met, his hands went immediately to his face and he doubled-over. Breathing hard and slightly shaking, guests couldn't tell whether he was alright. As she approached him and put her hand on his shoulder, he stood up with the broadest smile on his face, a tear in his eye, and told her she looked beautiful.
It's here! Part III! If I had to choose, I'd say this was my favorite part of Jessica's brand shoot. No, my favorite was the cherry blossoms.. no, the time in her apartment (coming soon!). I love them all.
Five minutes with Paige Fetzer is the equivalent of 12 espresso shots. Her energy and enthusiasm for life is that contagious. She is an incredible combination of fierce, bold, and dynamic mixed with thoughtful, sweet, and kind. I feel so fortunate to say a few hours spent shooting brand content together lead to an immediate friendship. Love you, Paige!
My heart is about to burst. This is one of my most meaningful sessions to date. I met my dear friend Paul early in high school and since first meeting, I have had the pleasure of watching his life unfold in the most magical ways…
Abby and Davon are the kind of couple everyone wants to be around. They are lighthearted, warm, silly, and incredibly kind. Even more, they are major foodies and know all the best spots from Baltimore to Washington, D.C., literally.
Baby Cillian couldn't believe his eyes when we set his little "one" cake down in front of him. His happy parents encouraged him to taste it, but he couldn't help but keep looking up at them with these wide, are-you-sure-I'm-supposed-to eyes. After much coaxing and even a taste from Dad to "show him how it's done," we convinced him that the cake was not, indeed, a trick and that he was allowed to dive in.
When I was three years old, a kitten with a smashed paw showed up on our back steps late one night. My parents thought it had been stepped on by one of the cows next door and immediately rushed it to a family friend veterinarian. When the kitten came home a few days later from the vet with three legs, we had all fallen in love with him. He was now our cat and I was allowed to name him! I don't remember this, but my mom says I immediately said "Luke!" after my best friend at the time :)
"We just want to remember him like this forever!" Francesca shared as we walked along the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria. It was the perfect day for family photos. Sunrise on a Sunday morning, warm air finally signaling the start of spring, the entire waterfront to ourselves, and little Julian happily riding in his stroller pointing at each plane that flew overhead.
I am so excited to begin sharing this project with you! I absolutely love working with businesses to upgrade their imagery and content to better tell their story. Jessica is a dynamic entrepreneur in Washington, DC who was ready to elevate her imagery to match her growing brand. Together, we developed a strategic outline to ensure her content imagery reflects her multi-faceted business and personality and communicates her brand authentically.
You've probably heard me mention Cynthia and Nikki, the girlbosses behind Nourish & Refine before. They are two DC-based yoga teachers obsessed with making it easy to find beautiful, conscious, local, woman-made products that make you feel beautiful, inside and out. I've had the pleasure of working with them since the beginning of their online shop and I'm thrilled to share a few of the images from their spring line!
I initially thought anniversary photos were overload. It felt like we'd just gotten married! Why do we need more pictures of us...? But the more I thought about it, the more I started to like the idea.
When our plane touched down in Liberia, Costa Rica, our adventure began. As we stepped out of the airport, the delicious, warm air hit us and we immediately started peeling off layers. Coming from the DC arctic, we all did a little victory dance to be in a tropical climate. Once we were in our tanks and shorts, we found our shuttle and the four of us who had arrived at similar times piled in.

Emily perfectly captured our marriage and what is dear to us! Her care and talent in what she does is especially apparent as she easily highlighted what makes our marriage and home special to us. We could not have loved the shoot or the images any more!

Emily is a total pro! Not only did she take amazing engagement pictures for us, but she made us feel comfortable and like our best selves throughout the whole sunrise shoot. We couldn't have asked for anything more! Emily is poised, professional, super friendly, and you'll probably be best friends by the time the shoot is over. These are pictures we'll have for the rest of our lives and we were in great hands with Emily. She's the very best.
