Jessica kept peering out of the window of her bridal suite. She was looking for him. Shawn. The love of her life and her best friend. Amidst getting ready herself, helping her daughter get ready, and laughing with her bridesmaids, she couldn’t help but continue to steal peeks out the window. When she finally spotted him, she lit up like a little girl and said, “oh my gosh, he looks so CUTE!!”
Since Carla and I first spoke to Jessica via FaceTime (she and Shawn were deployed in Afghanistan when she began planning their wedding), Jessica has maintained that school girl excitement for him and their coming marriage. While walking down the pier along the water during their engagement session, their sweet, giggly love was apparent. They are best friends and despite being together for years, I remember thinking they seem like they just started dating.
It was just the same on their beautiful wedding day last weekend. When Jessica excitedly put both hands on his back during the first look, he spun around and they couldn’t contain their happiness. Bending over and laughing like two people who hadn’t seen each other in a long time, they embraced and smiled and both breathed a sigh of relief that at last, they were together. And now, it is forever.
Congratulations, Jessica + Shawn on your gorgeous day. Carla and I are honored to have been a part of such a beautiful testament to your love, family, and future.
