After lunch, they took “the girls,” their poodles Millie and Charlotte, for a walk around the neighborhood and I couldn’t help but snap away. They are such a photogenic family! Throughout the day, Brent kept saying, “I can’t believe how many people are coming to be there for us on the most important day of our lives. We are so lucky.”
As their first dance song played softly in the background, they got ready together in their beautiful apartment. It was such a relaxing, happy environment. From there we hopped around the city taking photos and loving the beautiful weather. As ceremony time approached, rainstorms threatened and their wedding planner made the call to move the ceremony from the upstairs terrace at their venue to inside. Brent and Corbin took it in stride and weren’t concerned by the change in plans at all. After ten years together, they were finally getting married and that’s all that mattered.
Most people would say rain isn’t ideal on a wedding day, but it turned out to be a blessing. Their ceremony, lit by hundreds of candles on the dinner tables pushed out of the way, was the most romantic space I’ve seen. As raindrops streamed down the windows, Brent and Corbin stood in front of their family and closest friends, shared vows they’d written, and pledged forever to each other. It was magical.
Around midnight, the celebration began to wind down. The dance floor had been packed for hours (guests were fueled with late night tacos) and the loving energy was palpable. Brent and Corbin hadn’t stopped smiling in the entire time I’d been with them. I think it is only fitting to echo the sentiment their friend so beautifully toasted, “May your love be modern enough to survive the times and old fashioned enough to last forever.”
